A Simple Way to Complete an Outstanding Analytical Essay
A Simple Way to Complete an Outstanding Analytical Essay A Simple Way to Complete an Outstanding Analytical Essay It doesnââ¬â¢t matter what academic assignment you have: a simple descriptive essay or a research paper on physics. Knowing the basic principles will always help you to complete any sort of a task with minimum affords. Analytical essay is not an exception. It is a paper, where you need to analyze and interpret an event, piece of art or situation. You need to show your critical thinking and apply all of the knowledge you have gained. Decide what will be the center of your work. Any analytical essay concentrates on a topic, certain quote or issue. That is why you need to analyze the subject and decide what aspects you will focus on. Include facts on a matter to support your point of view, even if your essay is written about a book or a movie; Choose your topic. Usually professors give a topic to write about but sometimes you can choose it yourself. Here is where the most problems arise and most of the students simply donââ¬â¢t know how to manage the task properly. If it is a movie or a book analysis, you can back your opinion with actions of various characters. You can also analyze motives of actors or participants. If it is a historical event, donââ¬â¢t forget to describe the things that influenced it. As well as use scientific tools for an academic topic; Start with a thesis statement. It is one of the most important parts of any assignment, as it gives the reader a chance to understand whether he wants to go on reading. A thesis statement of an analytical essay should back your ideas and give the reader a chance to see what issues you are going to discuss; Back your thoughts with evidence. You should pay great attention to all the materials you are dealing with, as they will be later used to back your ideas. Use films, books or any other materials to support your statement and add additional evidence to your thesis. It is a great idea to explain various events or situations, which happened before the described events and their influence on the matter; Write a plan of your paper. Completing an outline may greatly simplify your life, as you will be able to always stick to the plan and remember what thinks you wanted to write about. A regular analytical essay consists of a short introduction, body and conclusions. The body paragraphs contain main information on the matter, so here you need to indicate all of the most important features on the subject. Example of an analytical essay plan: Introduction Section 1: Causes of the event Section 2: Description of the event Part 3: Reaction of the characters Conclusions Compose your analytical essay à Write the introduction. Any introduction requires careful attention to details, as it gives the reader an overall impression and encourages him to go on reading. That is why you need to be innovative and make your topic as attractive as possible. However, donââ¬â¢t include too many facts and details, as they may easily bore the audience. You should also try to avoid dramatic elements, like exclamation marks, as an analytical essay always remains subjective; Write body paragraphs. There is a great way to complete your body paragraphs in a simple way. You should only divide them into three parts: Write down the main sentence; Analyze the text; Include a certain fact, which will confirm your thesis and text analysis. Every paragraph should correspond with your thesis statement and provide a deep understanding of the topic. Donââ¬â¢t be in a hurry and complete a thorough analysis of all statements; Wisely choose a place for quotes and paraphrases. Any time you want to use someone elseââ¬â¢s thoughts or phrases, you need to quote them inside the text. With such citations, you support your ideas or provide useful information, so it is important to add quotes to relevant paragraphs. Make sure you cite everything properly depending on the required formatting style; Write down the conclusions. When working on this section, you need to remind the audience your main statements on the topic. It is also possible to paraphrase the thesis but make it sound different from the introduction section. Provide different ideas and conclusions to make the reader think on the topic. Your opinion shouldnââ¬â¢t influence someone elseââ¬â¢s assessment but still it is useful to write a couple sentences on your own ideas. Final stage Go through your paper over and over again to avoid any mistakes, including lexical and grammatical ones. Even the best paper can receive lower marks if it contains lots of mistakes and complex sentences. That is why you need to make sure that you spend enough time on correcting possible errors. If you find it difficult, ask someone to help; Read your analytical essay aloud. Students often neglect this common practice. However, it can greatly help you to concentrate on the sections, which you didnââ¬â¢t pay attention to. You may also see what sections or even phrases sound too complicated and which are readable. Making one step at a time, you will be able to complete an outstanding essay, which will be smooth and interesting; Eliminate all possible spelling mistakes. There is nothing worse than writing names, locations and places with mistakes. Take your time and consult several various sources to make sure you spell such information correctly. The best tips you will ever get It will be much easier to write down your thesis statement if you understand what you are willing to prove. Your opinion may change throughout the work, so you should simply alter the thesis statement a bit; Stick to the point. Some students think that writing a long essay, filled with watery sentences, is a great solution. However, any professor will agree that your analytical essay should be brief and clear. Every sentence you write should analyze a certain matter and be backed by a research; Donââ¬â¢t use too many quotes. Of course, it is great to use quotes and citations of scholarly sources and other authors. However, loading your text with too many details will simply do you harm, as your professor may think that you donââ¬â¢t have any personal thoughts on the subject; Be innovative. It is difficult to stand out from hundreds of other works, so finding a way to differ is crucial if you want to be noticed. If the topic allows, write your essay in a form of an autobiography or a letter. In addition, you can add infographics, illustrations and provocative titles to engage the reader; No everyday language. If your essay is analytical and requires a critical approach, it is necessary to avoid everyday phrases. If you decide to use slang you can sound unprofessional, which may greatly influence your final grades and overall impression from the text.

Learning journals Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2250 words
Learning journals - Assignment Example This way of thinking is important since this allows both people to be more open with their selves and to create ties with others through common grounds. This is not only applicable in the classroom setting, but also in daily living such as in the work place, especially in times when people rely less on the help of other people and more on their own efforts, so in my opinion students must be able to learn this skill to become much more sociable, amiable, and team-oriented professionals in the future. Thus, it is of importance to learn how to communicate with others and compromise in certain decision-making situations to instill unity, trust, and camaraderie with other people. What did you learn from this event about your own approach to teaching and learning? This event made me realize the importance of interpersonal relationships and proper interactions with other people, as well as the fact that human experiences and what every individual knows can be diverse despite having to deal with nearly the same things every day. In addition, this reminds me to try and understand how other people think, and by doing so it is an expression of respect towards them. Lastly, it also increased my open-mindedness to possibilities that I may not be aware of, thus I will increase my efforts to be more aware of other options and not just what I want. I would very much want to apply this knowledge when attending to students, to help them be much more open and aware of other possibilities when analyzing or solving problems with no right or wrong answers. What would you do differently in your own teaching as a result of this event? I would like to encourage students to learn how to create compromises through thorough analysis of available options and choosing the best option, as well as to teach them the importance of creating connections with people through being open-minded and non-judgmental on the abilities and capabilities of other people, as I see that it is an important atti tude to have both while studying in the university and once they graduate and move on to their aspired careers. JOURNAL ENTRY TWO DATE: 2013/1014 The importance of dealing with difficult people Short account of a particular event. Group-oriented activities often bring out either the best or the worst of the members. There is one particular group activity where one of my group mates is very unrelenting with her opinion on how to create the groupââ¬â¢s presentation and report. It was rather stressful because while others shared their ideas in the most respectful way, she kept putting downother peopleââ¬â¢s ideas and pushing her own ideas strongly without much explanation. So we just ended up the meeting and decided to meet again after a few days, to cool everyoneââ¬â¢s heads off, instructing everyone to write their opinions on how to make the presentation, along with pros and cons. The next meetingââ¬â¢s environmentwas a bit calmer because opinions were written, better tha n just shouting our opinions out loud. In the end the pushy group mate is still a bit pushy, but because her ideas were discussed and analyzed just like the othersââ¬â¢ she was a bit calmer. What did you learn from this event about student learning? I learned that dealing with problems early on is

It highlights the internal evaluation of strategies adopted by Hilton Hotels Corporation and examines requirements of a new joint venture that is planned in China. Thus, the report elaborates human resource requirements for the new joint venture in China. Hospitality industry includes wide range of services like event planning, lodging, transportation and hotels. The growth in revenue in this particular sector depends on the availability of the disposable income and leisure time of the individuals. The global hospitality industry has encountered growth for the last five years due to the increase in demand for different services. The following graph indicates the trend of demand and supply in this particular industry for the last five years. From the above figure it can be depicted that the demand for the hospitality services were much less than that of the supply of the same. The reason behind this difference in demand and supply can be stated as the decrease in disposable income of the individual globally. Disposable income is the main driver to boost revenue in this industry. The leisure time also plays an important role for governing the increase or decrease in demand for services in this sector; as with the increase in competition worldwide people have become more conscious regarding their job and thus they do not get much time to spend with their family. For example, if the hotel sector is taken into account it can be stated that with the rise in price of the hotel rooms the demand
Should Students be Expelled From School for Cheating or Plagiarizing Essay
Should Students be Expelled From School for Cheating or Plagiarizing - Essay Example Plagiarism is the violation of the sole purpose of education. If the purpose of education is to teach one how to be a man, a plagiarizer in the very first place destroys this basic premise of education itself. Moreover, a plagiarizer or an academic fraud pollutes not only himself but also the environment of the whole institution. Often students are inspired by the positive result of their friendsââ¬â¢ uncaught plagiarism. Therefore, in order to check the corrupting impact of plagiarism and academic fraudulence, students should be expelled from school if they are caught cheating or plagiarizing. The plague of plagiarism revealed in various research reports is rather terrifying. According to according an ââ¬Å"Academic Cheating Fact Sheetâ⬠more than seventy five percent of the college students confess that they have cheated at least one time in their school life. Only a few of these plagiarizing students get caught, where the majority had been able to evade the authority or t heir teachers. (ââ¬Å"Academic Cheating Fact Sheetâ⬠) If the school authorities were strict enough to establish exemplary punishment by expelling the cheating students, the plague of plagiarism would not spread at such a high rate. The deterrent effects of expelling a cheating often get reduced by the lack of the academic authoritiesââ¬â¢ goodwill to prevent this academic crime. Obviously expelling a student is to be taken as the ultimate punishment for a plagiarizing student.... Obviously expelling a student is to be taken as the ultimate punishment for a plagiarizing student. In my opinion, expelling a student from an academic institution plays only a partial role in reducing this academic crime in the campuses. One will commit a severe a mistake if he or she relies on it as one and only means for resolving this problem. Reports show that students often plagiarize because a. they do not any clear idea of what plagiarism is, 2. they do not feel the stigma as well as negative consequences of plagiarism, 3. they feel that they have no other choice but to plagiarize and 4. they feel it is easy to plagiarize (Reid) Indeed the first two reasons are the studentsââ¬â¢ lack of knowledge about what plagiarism is and lack of awareness of the negative impacts of plagiarism on the studentsââ¬â¢ academic skills and its negative consequences in broader contexts such as the society, the nations, etc. It is the academic authoritiesââ¬â¢ duty to raise awareness amon g the students. The students are assisted promptly, warmly and friendly in any case they need assistance. Only after taking all types of preventive and complementary measures to remove this crime from an academic campus, expelling a plagiarizing student should be made the unalterable law. Argument against ââ¬Å"students should be expelled from school if they are caught cheating or plagiarizingâ⬠If plagiarism or academic fraudulence is considered as a plague or a disease, expelling a plagiarizing student means banishing him or her to suffer alone, avoiding a teacherââ¬â¢s pedagogic duty to nurse the rotting mind of his or her students. So I staunchly oppose this view that ââ¬Å"students should be expelled from school if they are caught
Social Networking Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
Social Networking - Research Paper Example For instance, about 75% of teenagers in the United States of America visit the Internet daily and social networking forms the biggest part of what they do (Boyd and Ellison ). Social networking sites are widely used by most people to build and maintain relationships; personal or business, and to express their personal ideas and interests concerning the world. Changes in Social Networking Social networks are social structures comprising of persons or organizations that are connected by a single or more different types of interdependency, for instance friendship, common interest, relationships or kinship (Boyd and Ellison). The networks allow people to create public or partial public profiles within a given system, articulate a list of different user that they share connection with and view and traverse the list of connections created by themselves and other users within the system. Social networking sites are very unique in that, apart from allowing users to meet strangers, they also allow them to articulate and make their social networks visible. They provide individuals with an opportunity to maintain their relationships with old friends and to meet new ones as well. The first recognizable social networking site was SixDegrees.com which was started in 1997 (Boyd and Ellison 13). It allowed people to create profiles, list friends they had and in the early 1998s it allowed them to surf their list of friends. These features also existed in some dating and community sites. For instance, AIM and ICQ buddy lists supported lists of friends but the friends were not visible to others. Classmate.com was also another social network which provided people with the opportunity to affiliate with their institutions and surf the networks of other people who were also affiliated to the same institution. However, until recently, it did not provide them with the opportunity to create profiles or list friends (Boyd and Ellison, 13). SixDegree became the first to incorporate these features and promoted itself as a tool to assist people in connecting with others and send messages to them. However, in 2000, SixDegree was incapable of becoming a sustainable business hence failed and its services were closed (Boyd and Ellison, 14). Although by this time the number of people using the Internet was huge, most of them lacked extended networks of friends who were online. They complained that there was nothing much to do after accepting a friend request and most of them were not interested in meeting strangers. From 1997 to 2001, most community tools started to support different types of combinations of profiles and publicly articulated friends. For instance, AsianAvenue and MiGente allowed people to make personal, dating and business profiles in which they could identify friends without seeking permission for the connections (Boyd and Ellison 15). Most of these social network sites were mainly developed for business and dating. For instance, Ryze.com was created in 2 001 to assist people leverage their business networks while Match.com was a profitable dating site (Boyd and Ellison, 16). However, with the creation of Friendster, MySpace and Facebook, the purpose of social networking sites took a new dimension. Social networking sites are today used for business, passing information, education, making friends and dating among others applications. While the Internet has made the world become a global village,

Data Presentations Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words
Data Presentations - Essay Example The economy, the social life and the satisfaction with life can be estimated using the statistical analysis of the corresponding data. The analysis permits to find the mean value of the parameter and to estimate whether the difference between the mean value and the particular measurement is due to the effect of the certain factor or whether it is within the confidence limit for the estimated parameter. The statistical analysis permits also to estimate the hidden trends and relationship between the parameters (Mendenhall, Beaver and Beaver, 2013). The aim of this analysis is to estimate the parameters related to the economy, demography and social life of the countries. The data from 100 counties represents the information about the following indices: average lifespan, average number of people per household, median household income and average number of people per household. The provided data permits to estimate each parameter, as well as the relationship between them. The analysis is started from the estimation of each variable. The Data Toolkit in Excel is used for this purpose. To obtain the descriptive statistics for each parameter the option ââ¬Å"Descriptive Statisticsâ⬠is chosen in the Data Toolkit. The obtained table provides information about the mean, median, mode, range and other main parameters of the descriptive statistics (Anderson, Sweeney, Williams, Camm and Cochrane, 2015). The information and its analysis are given below. The descriptive statistics for the median household income shows that there is a significant difference between maximum and minimum value of this index. The minimum value is more the two times less from the maximum value. The data is distributed symmetrically because the mean and the median are very close and the skewness is comparatively small. It can be assumed that the data is normally distributed (Mendenhall, Beaver and Beaver, 2013). The main feature of the data is the large difference
